the common misconception is that it's a celebration for Mexico's Independence

it's a completely voluntary non-federal holi.day in Mexico, yet for some reason the U.S. has adapted it as their own sort of excuse to get drunk and eat awesome mexican food

but many parts of the world celebrate it and you should too!

What, and Mexicans don't *also* just use holidays as an excuse to get drunk regardless of its meaning?  They celebrate Fiesta - the holiday that celebrates the Mexicans LOSING THE WAR.

upshot is

lost cart, blamed others,

got new cart, got to point where lost old cart, found old cart, remarked at the predictability of my shopping as both carts were almost identical.
