QUOTE
Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a holi.day in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico.[1][2] The holi.day commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.[3][4] The outnumbered Mexicans defeated a much better-equipped French army that had not been defeated in almost 50 years.

the common misconception is that it's a celebration for Mexico's Independence

it's a completely voluntary non-federal holi.day in Mexico, yet for some reason the U.S. has adapted it as their own sort of excuse to get drunk and eat awesome mexican food

but many parts of the world celebrate it and you should too!

edit: forgot about the word filters

We haven't a hope.

We can't even get St. George's day as a public holi-day. How on Earth do you think we could get the 5th of may. And what happens when it clashes with mayday bank holi-day?

Edit: If Lougan doesn't get these word filters sorted, he'll be the 'Dead One'!

I have the willing to lay the smack down on foreign invaders in the interest of gaining an extra day off.

I have to say that you're obviously oblivious to the "rules" (I use this term loosely ... like how Largo likes his women) of this thread.

I have seen 'rules' thrown out of the window on sub posts before. There wasn't an easy way to add 'I have' on the posts so I went out and said it.
O.K.?
