Signs of After-life?

Two Saturdays ago, Bryan died in a motorcycle accident; he was 27 years old. He was on his new BMW motorcycle and was coming off the interstate going 131 MPH at the time of his collision with a highway sign. He died instantly. Needless to say, this was a big loss for everyone, and still now - typing this after I thought my mourning was over with, I'm getting a little emotional thinking of him and how this could happen; it's still a shock. He left behind his very large and endearing family, great friends, and a very loving girlfriend. There was no question that Bryan tended to ride the line of life and death - let's just say, he took risks.
Well, I told you all that, to tell you this.
Ben, his wife Terri and his son Caleb went to Michigan for the funeral last week. I was in NYC for a wedding when I got the news from a phone call from my Mom & Dad, so we didn't attend, but all sent the family our love and sympathies. Ben returned from Michigan to work (with my parents, business partners and such..) and told my Mom about the trip. Bryan had a full miliarty funeral with the 21 gun salute, over 500 people attended, and was proceeded with everyone in his "motorcycle" club - 75 motorcycles with American flags on the back of their bikes. He told her that he noticed some things during his trip up north that seemed to be a bit unusual. Please note that Ben is not a "spiritual" man, by any means. I'm sure he has beliefs, but religion is never a topic he'll bring up.
During his driving trip, he noticed that a good majority of the way, there were 2 BMW motorcycles driving beside him. A little later on the highway, a truck with a flat trailer on the back with a vintage BMW motorcycle merged in front of him. Later, there was another car with a US Navy lisence plate frame and the letters "BTM-2238" - "BTM" are Bryan's initials...and he was in the Navy. During their stay in Michigan they went to their local Meijers (like Wal-Mart) and the cashier that checked them out had a nametag that read "Bryan M".
Does that give you chills? Because I did. I've never heard of anything like this.
Yesterday, at work...I took a call from a long-time client of mine in NY, he was a new contact person and wanted to introduce himself. When I went to add his contact info to our database, he told me his name was "Bryan McKinnick". I paused ...I had to ask "Excuse me, this is a random question...but what's your middle name?" Bryan responded, "Trae. Why do you ask?". All I could tell him was that I "knew a lot of Bryan's" and I chuckled it off...but I was really just drawing a big blank, fumbled with confusion.
I'm still a little disturbed in a really curious and calming kind-of-way. If that makes sense...

People tend to notice things that stick out in their head. For instance, when you buy a new car, you tend to notice more cars like yours on the road. When I got sexy car (my mazda 3) i didnt think many people had them. Then right after that, i noticed there were 3 in my apartment parking lot. Maren's mom is a good example as well. She has a Mazda Tribute, she got in a wreck last weekend, and its in the shop. Lately she's been seeing Tributes everywhere.
Its really a pyschological thing, we make associations, and we start to notice the background noise. There are studies about such things. I forgot exactly what its called.
Maybe it is human nature... I dunno. But as far as afterlifes go, that isnt something that can be explained by science. (And I do believe in such things).

who knows. it seems all really coinciedental. i dunno though.
i don't like questioning my beliefs, because it's a little deeper than i'd like to go - but it's definately where i'm at right now.
thanks

though i would like to believe it's some form of message from the afterlife, i agree with lougan
the former is just too romantic.

none can match my raw textuality
I don't believe that I have encountered a pancake that I would consider revolting

i haven't had any personal experiences with loved ones that have passed.
But i hear stories like it... chill bumps hit me regardless of knowing/believing..
my personal experience was a bit influenced, but i don't doubt that my brain had just been opened up to something i've never been able to grasp before.
Not saying that Loug's scientific explanation isn't completely valid, but the line between just noticing more and random "coincidence" is thin... it's a hard point to define, but i believe less in things just randomly happening... more in things happen that way for a reason, it's up to us to notice the small details. Some people are too wrapped up in other things to pay attention.
i kinda went off topic a bit... i think... but yeah
I definitely believe in an afterlife and the possibility of making it back from that plane of existence.

here is the kicker- my grandfather killed himself when i was younger in the basement at the washing machine
ive also "talked" to my dad through an ouija board. he has told me that Ted is a demon and that he is trying to protect me from him. my dad asked me how emily was and how my mom was and he said I love you. i asked him if God was real and he said do you believe? i asked him what iw as going to be when i grew up and he said it's a suprise. he also told me to look in the table beside a bed. i figured out he was talking about my mom and his bed in her room. i went in there one day and looked in the bedside table on my dad's side and found a book of pictures that i had forgotten about. they were pictures htat emily and i drew while he was sick in the hospital.

good thing you're brave.
that's really cool that you've connected with your dad too, that actually made my eyes get a little misty reading it. i mean, it's creepy - in a really satisfying and cool way. it's a good thing

What is an ouiji board?
I believe that some form of messaging can reach you from the other side, but maybe not direct communication.
He was probably saying goodbye in his own way.

didn't i say this? i mean, if i didn't clarify - i already know that he took the turn too fast. hellooooo, 130 mph is fucking fast to take on a merge off the highway that says the speed limit is 45. i can't imagine any merge off a highway is more than 45 mph; they're usually lower from my experience. yes, he did take risks. he was an idiot for going that fast. the statement you made is beside the point of this thread. but thanks?

The poster also makes no commitment to give a shit about your opinions or feelings. Suck it up or get off the net.

People hold onto something that you can see through (I don't know what it's called, but it's got a hole in the middle. Makeshift boards might use a shotglass), and, supposedly, the ghost moves the... thing around the board to spell out words. Most people think it's a little sleepover game (like "light as a feather, stiff as a board"), and some think it creates a direct connection to THE DEVIL.

"Baby, looking at you is like looking at a tragic and bloody car wreck: arousing."

After the death its the afterparty
Then after the party its the hotel lobby
Then right about four we have to leave the lobby
and its back to gods for a prawns on the bbq and beer.

Well i believe there is something beyond this life, as in that contacting us or vise versa, im skeptical. I think much of it does have to do with personal experience.
