Aaaaaanyhow, the fact is that it doesn't matter and this is an incredibly trivial topic, it's like scientists studying how most of the ducks in north america will be dead within the next like 20 years. Besides we are all going to die someday anyhow, "on a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to 0."

everything is inevitable, if it wasnt, it woudnt happen
Eva, your comment briefly describes a school of thought which has been debated by theologians for a very long time. Do things happen as a result of human choices (consequences), or is fate (supra-human determinism) in control?
Some people mix the two as if to say the consequences of people's actions were determined before their act OR that the supra-human effected their actions to cause the inevitable outcome. In other words, their actions were ultimately irrelevant; the determined fate has always been inevitable.
I personally disagree with this philosophy because (and I'm not getting religious on anyone here) I do not believe God would tell Adam and Eve to not eat the apple to have only determined they would. Let me state this in the form of a question. Why would God tell Adam and Eve to avoid eating the fruit if He had determined they already would?
I am making a few assumptions here: 1. God is good and would not "set up" Adam and Eve, 2. Adam and Eve have the ability to make choices contrary to the command of God.
I believe in the free agency of mankind to make choices of all sorts. These choices are theoretically innumerable; multiplied times the number of people alive makes the future nearly absolutely uncertain. In fact, I even believe God does not know all of the future because of the free agency of man.

I like having control and making my own decisions, aswell as suffering the consequences from those decisions.
What gets me is that alot of people discard fate when something bad happens, they class fate as the happening of something good which they think is meant to be.

fate: something that was predestined to happen, happens no matter what descisions a person makes.
free will: a person can make descisions and change the outcome of their life.
personally i believe (and i dont believe in alot) that life is like a 4th grader's drawing of a tree. you have the trunk (that is the beginning of your life). then you make a v in between the two lines that make up the trunk. that is the first big descision of your life. then you draw one v in each opening created by the first v. the left side is what happens and the right is what could have happened.
keep in mind the rest of the tree (the rest of one's life) has not been drawn yet
you continue on each side and pretty soon you just have a whole bunch of mess.
