Anybody know any good file sharing programs these days, in the kazaa/napstar sort of mould if there are any these days.

I wouldnt be looking to break any copyright laws blah blah legal jargon.

Shareza isnt bad but it is pretty heavy on the cpu and memmory. normally a bit simpler and easer to get a bit torrent which dont take much up and you can normally leave on for a while , although you'll have to go around internet sites to find the files you want.

try download.com it has a fairly big selectoin of both (although some like limewire you have to pay for some bits etc etc)

A friend of mine swears by bearshare, if you don't mind a little spyware.

I dont mind spywear, just so long as its managable or causing random popups at all time.

www.torrentspy.com.
Look for anything on there, they probably have an indirect link to a site with a direct link to it.
Use the clients uTorrent or BitTornado for best results (I prefer uTorrent)*

*Note: recommending these clients only because I've tested them out.

ok im sorry if you already know this but torrents are ment to be more reliable than just p2p file transfer. the idea is you go to a website and click on a torrent , you then download that torrents tracker onto your computer. with that tracker bittorrent client will download the file for you. It is normally much safer than just searching a p2p network as is something is morally offensive or illigal its normally taken off the site quikly. you also can also normally see comments others have made about the file , like can only be used in real player or theres a currupted file. So its much harder to misname something like naming a porno to the incredable(SP) hulk unless your the first guy to download it /comment on it. people have ago about downloading multiple files becouse they want 1:1 upload/download ratio but dont worry too much about it. But be nice and leave the files there for other people to upload for a while , specially with some clients others can see who there downloading to and there are "black pages" of people who will not get fast downloads as a few of the bigger people within this comunity wont let you download to from them(who are nice enough to use server time for torrents). (although i never seem to have had a problem)

www.download.com is good theres p2p and torrents on there and some that combine the two , you can also see reviews from the site members to get a idea of what everythings like.
