I prefer driving a stick, but one has to drive it consistently...when I go between them regularly I start making mistakes, like trying to push in the clutch or reaching for a gearstick on an automatic, or grinding the gears on a stick.

nothing is worse than hitting the breaks when going for the clutch in an automatic. or trying to downshift one.

i'm kinda partial to the nissan skyline, not that i'll ever buy one. I think i'd like to get a hybrid for my next car. there's just something about beating people at the pumps that i'm hooked on.

My dream car was a 1989 Toyota Carrolla. Then one day after what seemed like an eternity of saving, I realised that dream.

Skylines are bad ass, but they're a rarity in the states due to the fact that they cost around $30,000 in Japan, about $15,000 to import, and another $15,000 to pass emissions laws. That's a conservative estimate. There's a right hand drive 240SX in the area that has a GTR R34 body. At least, my buddy that knows much more about vehicles than I do says its probably a 240SX. All I know is that from any angle I look at it, it's a skyline.

Alot of times Skylines are registered as 240sx's, to avoid the obvious legal problems with, you know, registering them.

Considering the one and only legal importer of R33's is doin' hard time in the slammer. (And there are no legal importers of R32's and R34's)

But they're fairly cheap in Japan. At least GTS-T's. GTR's are pricey, but I guess people don't realize that a Skyline (as in not a GTR) is a fairly pedestrian car in the land of the rising sun. Like, a Buick.

test drove a saab 93 convertible, audi a4 400 convertible, audi a4 600 sedan and Land Rover LR3 yesterday.

Saab - kind cool. had some neat features, but wasn't the most comfortable ride.

Audi - much better than the saab, not as many bells and whistles. The 400 didn't have enough get up and go. The 600 did much better. Fun car to drive.

Land Rover - drives like a boat. fucking sucks. looks cool from the outside. I'd never buy one.

as odd as it sounds... actually, its not odd at all. but anyway, I want a F250 when I get home. Just for the practical use of it and all that (seeing as a work with horses). Plus, girls look hot driving trucks. Only downside is the amount of gas they use. So, maybe I'll go with a jeep renegade instead. Not as practical, but still cute.

However, I still want to get another VW Jetta (preferably a newer model) and fix it up as a show car. I never got the chance to do it with mine before I left.
