Well, this is the first of a few little tutorials I am going to go through.  We are going to go through and turn on quick reply, active a rich text editor, and set your time zone.

What the hell are these things you ask?  Well, lets do a little explaining.

Time Zones:  Yes you live in a specific time zone.  You must set your time zone, that way, the post times you see on the website will show the time the post happened in your neck of the woods.

Quick Reply:  You all know what it is, it is the quickest way to make a post whore out of yourself.  However, on the new forums, you have to turn it on yourself.  I wont do it for you.  I am lazy.

Rich Text Editor:  Does BBcode annoy you.  Do you even know what BBcode is?  Its that annoying thing where you have to add this tag, then close it in order to get color to your text or whatever.   Well now, IRB has a new Rich Text Editor.  You all have probably used one in the past (Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, etc).  When you make a message, it works like a word processor, your hit bold, and your text appears bold.  You change the color to blue, the text turns blue.  Its a great little addition.

Well on to the fun part.  Lets set this thing up.  First thing you need to do is go to your control panel, you can do it by clicking this link:  http://www.imreallybored.com/community/index.php?act=UserCP

ok now that you are there, scroll down to Board Settings under Menu > Options... click that.

Now, first change your time zone.  I am under Central Time (US & Canada).  I have no idea what you are.
Second, scroll down, changing whatever you need too.  At the bottom you will see Posting Settings.  First you want to turn on Fast Reply, so on the top drop down menu, click Yes.  Next we are going to turn on the Rich Text Editor.  To do this, use the bottom drop down menu to select Rich Text Editor rather than Standard.

Then click Change my Account Options and magically you are done.

This is Lougan helping you to get the most out of your IRB experience.

Next time... Setting up a Blog.

I protest!  There's no Eastern Non-Daylight Savings setting in the timezone list!  I will have to manually reset mine next month.

Indiana is teh crazy.
and i am nothing of a builder
but here i dreamt i was an architect
and i built this balustrade
to keep you home, to keep you safe
from the outside world
but the angles and the corners
even though my work is unparalelled
they never seemed to meet
this structure fell about our feet
and we were free to go
